With dances, parties,doughnuts, candies, dresses…all things we like, how’s winter treating your skin so far? Is your skin giving you painful work hours and sleepless nights? Here we are for rescue.

Makeup and skin care undoubtedly help your skin get the needed radiance. But in the long run, your beauty needs care from the inside. Skin needs nourishment inside-out. If you include good stuff in your diet, your complexion will show the gleam. For a glowing and healthy appearance of your skin, what you put in your body equally matters to what you apply topically.

Now, when you are well aware of your skin, you should know which food suits best for your type. Diet per your skin type can help you look glamorous and healthy from the core.

As the foremost rule your daily food chart should contain organic, natural and fresh items and should exclude processed and packaged food with preservatives as they are hard to digest and harmful for your health too. Moreover, excessive smoking and consumption of alcohol or coffee should also face the halt as it leads to cell damage, dehydration, excess oil secretion and acne as its consequence. Besides adequate intake of water, regular physical exercise and daily enough sleep also contribute in giving you’re a brighter and nourished complexion.


Below, take note on our tips for what to eat for your skin type – make both your skin & tummy happy!


FOR NORMAL SKIN

Drink 10-12 glasses of water daily. It will help your skin remain hydrated.

 

Have raw unsalted almonds on regular intervals. Vitamin richness in almonds will help your skin look healthy and glowing.

Green juices without adding sugar can also help you with skin inflammations and make your skin livelier.



FOR OILY SKIN

This skin type needs most careful and gentle care.

Avoid fatty food ingredients that contains a good amount of saturated fat.

Include fibre rich foods in your diet. You can have low-glycemic Index foods like oatmeal, whole grains, pasta, beans, green veggies and fruits.


Low-glycemic Index foods are those “with less carbohydrate and don’t spike up your blood glucose levels. Carbohydrates with a low GIvalue (55 or less) are more slowly digested, absorbed and metabolised and cause a lower and slower rise in blood glucose and, therefore insulin levels.”

Use gentle organic skincare products and try to avoid heavy makeup and sunscreen.


FOR SENSITIVE OR ACNE-PRONE SKIN

Similar to oily skin, it’s best to avoid to foods with high saturated fat.

Should have more green veggies and colourful fruits to prevent those skin irritation and acne breakouts.

Mushrooms are also a good choice for this skin type. It regulates excess sebum secretion from your skin. Richness of Vitamin D and antioxidants helps to control pimples and blemishes.




Include fibre rich foods in your diet like oatmeal, whole grains, pasta, beans, green veggies and fruits. It will clean toxins from your body and will also provide anti-inflammatory properties to your skin.



Yogurt works wonder if your skin is filled with acne or breakouts. Proteins in yogurt help in skin cell repair and regeneration thus controlling the appearance of pimples.


FOR DRY SKIN

You need to include food ingredients that contain high amount of healthy fats or omega-3 fatty acids and oils that will moisturize your skin and retain its suppleness.


To keep your skin hydrated you should drink lots of water throughout the day, even more if you have extended outdoor hours.

Include avocado, chia seeds, nuts, olive oil in your diet for a gorgeous skin. Try to have foods rich in Vitamin A such as tomatoes, carrots, spinach that will help your skin to get back its glow.


FOR COMBINATION SKIN

To get a brighter, lighter and radiant complexion eat high energy fruits like beans, sweet potatoes, green veggies and pepper.

Avoid high sodium foods from your diet as they might damage your skin. Salty snacks like potato chips, fries and foods with trans-fat will worsen your skin condition.
