Of late, are you noticing your hands have turned dry, rough, scaly, irritated? Do you feel they are not the same smoother or softer like before? It is because of the cold weather and you are not the only one. Mostly because of the chilled north wind and also the dry warm air inside your home takes away all the moisture from your skin leaving it rough and lifeless.

Winter roughness is itchy and in extreme cases, you can see the cracked skin on hands and it bleeds too. Now, if you are thinking how to pamper your hands during winter days, here we are with some beauty tips and handy home remedies. Following this, you’ll get softer hands without wasting a single penny to the salon or chemical cosmetics.

Home remedies for soft, supple, smoother and attractive hands. Remedies for the extremely dry skin.

Restoring the moisture of your skin is the most important during the dry days of winter. Your hands look scaly because it lacks proper hydration and moisturization. Using moisturizers immediately after bath or every hand wash is necessary. Carry your moisturizer and apply all day long to keep them hydrated. And, this method is same even if you have oily or normal skin.

Here’s how you can make your own winter moisturizer:

1/2 cup Shea Butter

4-5 tablespoons Coconut Oil

5-6 tablespoons Avocado Oil or Jojoba Oil

1-2 drops Lavender Essential Oil

You can also add 1 tablespoon each of Honey and Aloe Vera gel if your hands are already cracked or bleeding.

How to

Heat all the ingredients until it is all liquid and no solid particle is remaining.

Then add Honey, Aloe Vera gel, and Lavender Essential Oil.

Still well and let the mixture cool in room temperature.

Store the mixture in the fridge to make it solid faster.

Put it in a blender and make it look like whipped cream. Put that in a bottle.

Regular scrubbing is needed to exfoliate dead dry skin cells and unveil the younger and fresh looking skin. You might have used few market available scrubbers but let me tell you, they are enough to damage your skin texture. As most of these scrubbers contain micro-plastics in the name of the natural ingredient.

Here’s one homemade DIY scrub recipe. Make your own scrub at home and pamper your hands in winter cold days.

2 tablespoons Sugar

1 teaspoon Almond Powder

1 teaspoon Olive Oil

½ teaspoon Honey

½ teaspoon Lemon Juice

How to

Mix all the ingredients and gently massage your hands for 5-10 minutes.

Wear gloves mainly during outdoor hours to keep your hands warm and prevent the moisture loss of your skin.

Avoid washing your hands with cold water. Use lukewarm water every time you wash your hands or even in your other household uses.

Exfoliate your skin at least once or twice a week.

Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from inside.

Here’s what is best for your hands if you follow it every night before going to bed.

Mix 2 tablespoon of milk, 2 tablespoons of honey and 1 tablespoon of Jojoba Oil in warm water. Mix well and soak your hands for 10-15 minutes.Pat dry and apply moisturizer.

These are the steps that I follow regularly and trust me, you’ll love them too. Make them all a part of your daily routine. Enjoy the snow, bid adieu to dryness and enjoy the warmth of cold days. Be beautiful.
